House Renewal

This project of extension and modernization gave the architects the opportunity to study the relationship between new and old. The design of this contemporary residence, that unifies two old buildings, outlines generous, open and bright spaces and reconfigures both the relationship between the two structures and the connection between interior and exterior.
Despite the changes made to the original buildings, many elements have been preserved and refurbished – plaster frames, the woodwork, the wooden structure of the roofs and floors visible from the inside and outside of the house.
The former eclectic style of the buildings is transformed so as to create a modern home, shaped around comfortable and spacious areas, without destroying the character and atmosphere of the original architecture.
